Hospital trials of a new system designed to improve hand-hygiene compliance began in Winchester today, where six Hygiene Handles from Pure Hold have been installed at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital (RHCH).
Hygiene Handle replaces a conventional hospital pull door handle. By automatically dispensing sanitising gel directly into the hand, Hygiene Handle ensures that more people comply with hospital guidelines on hand hygiene, for better infection control.
The hospital trials at RHCH in Winchester will compare hand hygiene data from areas where the Hygiene Handle is installed with benchmark data based on the use of conventional wall-mounted gel dispensers.
