An innovative new system designed to improve hand-hygiene compliance in hospitals has been certified for use with standard design hospital fire doors FD30 and FD60.
Named Hygiene Handle, the new system replaces a conventional hospital pull door handle. By automatically dispensing sanitising gel directly into the hand, Hygiene Handle ensures that more people comply with hospital guidelines on hand hygiene, for better infection control.
Approval of the design for use with fire doors FD30 and FD60 is a significant milestone for Pure Hold, the company that designed the new handle; hospital trials are now planned for August, prior to a September launch.
